Fixing AddMonitor failed error

This error can happen when trying to create a local client using the “create new printer” option in the Settings menu. Here is a solution:

  1. Close Windows Firewall.
  2. Set UAC slider to lowest position.  This will require a reboot.
  3. Install the FinePrint and pdfFactory network printers on the notebook + create new local printers for off-line usage
  4. Restore UAC slider to original position.
  5. Start Windows Firewall.
